Nicolae Balu

Nicolae Balu, 77, of Rockford, Il went to be with the Lord on June 01, 2026. Nicolae was born on October 23, 1948 in Bucharest, Romania to Dumitru and Alexandra Balu. Nicolae served in the military and accepted Christ in his early twenties. He married Maria (Maricica) who preceded him in going to rest with the Lord. He then married Maria (Marioara) with whom he shared a home, family and life together for the last 40 years.

Nicolae was a highly skilled machinist toolmaker, overcame many hardships during his lifetime, and succeeded in bringing his family to USA for a better life. He loved to drive and travel, was interested in politics and taught his children the value of hard work and honesty.

Nicolae is survived by his wife, Marioara, 7 children+14 grandchildren: Michelle Calin (Dave Meade, Patrick, Michaela, David), Simona Balu-Gross (John Gross), Mioara Calin (Dan Degnan, John, Kelly), Mike Sorin Balu (Sabrina, Martin, Emiliano), Doinita Calin (Joshua), Lorie Mora (Pete, Timmy, Aida, Anisa), Nicolae “Nick” Balu (Lily, Nick, Emma) + 1 sister-in-law+1 nephew+3 nieces+2 grandnephews+2 grandnieces+1 great-grandniece: Liliana Simmons (Joell, Jasper [Susie], Simona Ivan [Andrew{Ryder}, Jayllen, Armyia, Alivia], Keyaira, Kimora).

A private memorial and celebration of life will be held.
