Orlie V. Bradford Jr

Orlie V. Bradford Jr., 91, of Rockford, passed away Thursday March 24, 2016. Born October 31, 1924 in Rochelle, IL. Son of Orlie and Olive (Thompson) Bradford. Graduated from Dixon High School in 1941. Married Dorothy J. Fishback in 1942 and then married Joyce V. Thoman in 1953. For 35 years he had a career selling used cars on his own car lots. That career allowed him to have great freedom to spend with his family. Summers were spent in Wautoma, WI where he had a cottage on John’s Lake. He would be in his boat everyday either napping or fishing. He loved to do woodworking adding square footage on to homes. He did Home Inspection in Lake Summerset which led him to design his own home and several others. He enjoyed collecting coins, reading, doing jig-saw puzzles, playing Bridge and telling stories.

Survivors include children, Gerald (Hazel), Rory (Sharon), Brian (Debbie McNally); grandchildren, Wendy Stanbugh, Selina (Ted) Hayes, David Bradford, Kimberly (Jeremy) Burke, Ryan (Angel Cleland) Bradford; great-grandchildren, KJ (Beth), Rachel, Sara, Wyatt, Koty, Khari, Brady, Isiaha, Payten, Elias, Kyson; great-great grandchild, Brooklyn; sister, Betty Wright, sister-in-law, Louise Bradford; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by parents; siblings, Gweneth Swanson, Harold Bradford, Everett Bradford; son Roc Vaughn Bradford.
