

Patsy was born in Amory Mississippi and raised in Galveston Island ,Texas with her 4 siblings. She moved to Rockford to be with her grandparents Jimmie Mae and Charlie. She was the first female computer operator at Amerock and fought for equality and civil rights in the 60’s. Patsy never gave up. She cared for the people who needed her. She loved life and lived it to the most every day, she had a contagious way of making people laugh and find the best in every situation. She will be missed by so many. Patsy is survived by daughters: Janie (Tom) Long and Debbie (Tavis) Alfredson; grandchildren: James (Kassi) Alfredson, Amber (Dee) Hitchcock, Corey (Sarah) Alfredson and Zak (Carley) Long;
great-grandchildren: Xavier Hitchcock, Kallen Alfredson, Avarie Alfredson and Lilly Alfredson
Other Family: John Ivy, Mike (Carol) Ivy, Brooke Ivy, Ethan Ivy, Stephen Gronvold, Phillip Gronvold, Ples Ivy and Taylor Ivy.
Proceeded by: Great Grandparents Jimmie Mae and Charlie Harris Moffett, Father Raymond Odam, Mother Corrinne (Moffett ) Ivy, Sister Deborah Gronvold, Brother Charles Ivy and loving husband Robert Smith.
We will celebrate the life of Patsy Smith with a visitation on Saturday, February 10th from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State Street in Rockford. Burial arrangements will be at a later date.
