Regina J. “Gina” DalSanto Crowder, 99, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, July 2, 2023 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, Rockford. Regina is preceded in death by her husband, Richard (2001) of over 59 years, her son, William (1993), her parents, Rose (Leggero) DalSanto and Frank DalSanto, sister, Margurite (Rita) DalSanto Falgout, her 3 brothers, Ernest, Joseph and John. Regina is survived by two children, Linda J. (Phil) Kilgore of Gainesville, FL and Sandra L. (Chester) Moore of Fernandina Beach, FL. She was survived by many family members, grandsons, Rich Crowder and David Moore, great-granddaughters, Leigha (Ethan) Kaufman and Chelsey Ann Crowder, great-grandson, Will Moore. Many very special nieces and nephews, Judy Ann (Jack) Daughtry, John (Sue) Pugh, Marcia (Steve) Blaylock, Debbie (Jeff) Gray, Steve (Julie) Pugh. Regina was blessed with many friends; one very special friend, Kay Rinaldi. Shortly after the death of her husband, she moved into Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center where she continued making more friends and was active and volunteered in numerous activities. She would say it is a kind and caring place to live. Gina led a full life; working as Rosy the Riveter, helping build B24 Liberators in WWII, Andrew Wire Works, Brearley Scale Factory, JC Penney, Weise Co., and employed by Rock River Savings and Loan for 13 years. She was a member of Central Christian Church since 1942. Regina will be remembered for the love of her children and many friends; which she made easily with her charming personality. She had an infectious smile, unfaltering generosity and devout faith in God. She loved to sing and dance. She loved entertaining family and friends. She always had a smile on her face.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held on July 30, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Fairhaven Christian Center, 3470 N. Alpine Road, Rockford, to commemorate Regina’s long life. She is now at peace and is once again, laughing, dancing, and sharing a wonderful time with her loved ones who went before her. She will always be in our hearts.
