Richard M. “Rick” Yates, 62, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 27, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 20, 1956 in Rockford, IL, the son of William and Phyllis Yates. Rick worked at Estwing for many years. He was passionate about fishing, and drag racing.
Rick is loved and missed by his father, William Yates; children, Brandi (John Bedin) Yates, and Ryan (Tiffany Lowe) Yates; grandchildren, Cody Yates, Jasmine Yates, Emma Vanduyn, Annabelle Yates, Alexzander Yates, and Alizabeth Yates; siblings, Candace Yates and George Yates; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis and brother, Kevin Yates.
A celebration of Rick’s life and a benefit will take place on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Whiskey’s Roadhouse, 3207 North Main Street, Rockford, IL, 61103. Cremation rites have taken place.
