Rose Bennett

Emaline "Rose" Bennett, 82, beloved wife of Don, mother, grandmother, sister and friend too many of Rockford went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 12, 2018. Rose was born February 8, 1936 in Yankton, South Dakota to George and Francis Lee. Rose married Don Bennett on July 20, 1954 in Mansfield, MO. Rose was a member of 20th Street Missionary Baptist Church in Rockford. Rose was founder of State Line Bird Fancier's in 1990 and raised birds for several years. She published "Roses recipe swap newsletter and 9 cookbooks. Rose is survived by her devoted husband Don of Rockford; beloved son Brian (Lynn) Bennett and grandson Bobby Bennett all of Rockford; loving sister Patricia Bing of Coloma, WI.; brother Arthur Lee of Adams, WI.; step-brother Leslie (Carolyn) Dryden of Roscoe, IL.; sister-in-law Sandra Bennett of Caspian, MI.; several nieces, nephews and close friends. Rose was preceded in death by her brother Allen Lee, father George Lee and step-mother Helen Lee; mother Francis Eldeen and step-father Arvid Eldeen, Sr.; half-brother John Kruse and step-brother Jerry Dryden.

Funeral service to celebrate Rose's life will be 11:00 am on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 West State St. in Rockford; visitation for Rose will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Willwood Cemetery.
