Ruby I Magner

Ruby I. Magner, 79, of Rockford, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the East Bank Center in Rockford. Ruby was born on January 24,1932 in Johnston City, IL. She was the daughter of Herman and Kitty Scoby. Ruby moved to Rockford in the late 40’s, she then married Jim Magner on February 18, 1956. Ruby was employed at OSF for 11 years. She was a member of Morningside Covenant Church and Lincolnwood Baptist Church. Ruby loved to socialize with her family and friends, she loved the Lord, Hymns and Country music, and she loved to cook. Ruby is survived by her son, Dan (Angela) Magner; 7 grandchildren; Ben, Alex, Sam, Heaven, Jasmine, Daryen, and David, 2 great grandchildren, sister, Louise Grounds, and several nieces nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 brothers; Pete, James, and Lloyd, and her son David. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, from 5-7 p.m. at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 7000 W State St. Rockford, IL 61102. A funeral service will be held on Friday August 5, at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev.
