Sandra S. “Sandy” Franklin, 78, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Thursday morning, April 15, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She was born November 10, 1942 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of George and Edna (Eklund) Franklin. Sandy married Norman Schwartz on May 23, 1987. She was the office manager at Anderson Nissan Mazda for 27 years. Sandy was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading when she could. Sandy was a devoted caregiver of her husband, Norm for many years.
Sandy is loved and missed by her siblings, Linda (Jack) Hauser, George “Frank” Franklin, and Michael (Jan) Franklin; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norm, and sister-in-law, Tanya.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care of Sandy.
A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 26, 2021 at Willwood Burial Park, 7000 W. State St, Rockford, IL 61102. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to Northern Illinois Hospice.
