Shelby J. Griffin, 76, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Friday afternoon, September 18, 2026. She was born September 17, 1950 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Stanley and LaVerne "Lottie" (Zarte) Clifford. Shelby graduated from Auburn High School, class of 1969. She married her sweetheart, Dennis Griffin, on August 12, 1978 in Beloit, WI. Shelby was employed at Barber Coleman for over 25 years. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Shelby liked fishing. Most of all, she adored spending time with her grandchildren.
Shelby is loved and missed by her husband of 48 years, Dennis; son, Daniel (Sharon) Webster; three grandchildren, Nathan Webster, Tyler Webster and Jaesiah Webster; siblings, Percy, Pat and Dewain; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, September 25, 2026 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State St, Rockford, IL 61102 with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Willwood Burial Park.
