Steven “Steve” L. Marean, 67, was welcomed into heaven on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. In a life well celebrated, Steve choose a career as an over the road truck driver. He loved his trucks. He embraced the road and all the adventure and friendships it had to offer him. He enjoyed donating money to the casinos while on the road. Steve found contentment with the companionship of a good fishing pole and a hearty catch. In July 2003, he married Loretta “Jane” Cockrell and together shared 14 years. They enjoyed traveling, dining and dancing together. Steve was a very good dancer. Steve was born in Rockford, IL. on October 3, 1950 to Clarence and Arlene (Woodman) Marean.
Survivors: wife, Jane; daughter, Stephanie (Nick) Lentz; Jane’s sons; Charles and Robert Barrett; granddaughter, Lucy; brothers, Mike (Nancy) Marean, Rodney Marean; sisters, Linda (Denny) Lundin, Darla (Joe) Smith, Sylvia (Skip) Richardson, Marcy (Ken) Ward; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents.
