Susan Lynn Tighe, 56, of Machesney Park, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 after a sudden illness. Born September 2, 1961 in Rockford, IL. Daughter of Alvin and Esther (Johnson) Carter. Employed by Concentric Manufacturing in Rockford for 20 plus years. Sue found enjoyment in boating, singing karaoke (especially Meatloaf), going to casinos, family BBQ’s and making her famous deviled eggs. She loved creating games for holiday gatherings and making Christmas cookies with the grandchildren.
She enjoyed watching movies, especially Johnny Depp ones or the Rocky Horror Picture Show. She took her love of watching old movies and introduced her grandchildren to them. Godzilla is their favorite. Going to the Meat Raffles in Edgerton with her Uncle and Aunt were always fun. The grandchildren especially loved going to Toys’R’Us with grandma where she spoiled them. Loved to going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and would ride the saddle for anybody’s birthday. Anytime spent with family or her grandkids was where she wanted to be.
Survived by her mom, Esther Carter; children, Joshua (Amy) Saldecki, Jason (Amber) Saldecki, Ashley Nelson; grandchildren, Colton and Deagan Saldecki, Kaiya Nelson, Maddix Schultz; siblings, Tim (Sue) Carter, Dale (Tina) Carter, Robin (Mark) Fritzen; nieces and nephews, Allen and Angie Carter, Robert and Jordan Fritzen; special dog, Sadie and special bird, Tango Dinosaur. Predeceased by her father, Alvin Carter.
Funeral Service at 10 a.m. on Monday July 9 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 West State St, Rockford. Visitation at 9 a.m. until time of service. As she always said, “Not my Monkey, Not my Problem.”
