Suzanne Davenport Bowen

Suzanne Hills "Sue" (Davenport) Bowen Suzanne Davenport Bowen, 91 of Janesville, WI, formerly of Wattsburg, PA and Hancock, NH, peacefully passed to her eternal rest from the home of her Janesville caregiver on March 14, 2025.

Sue Davenport graduated from the Albany Academy for Girls High School in 1952 and went on to get a Bachelor of Arts degree from William Smith College in 1956; she married Charles Bowen that same year. She excelled at field hockey. Sue was a homemaker for most of her life, with a great love for animals. She enjoyed caring for and riding her horses. All stray dogs and cats that wandered onto the farm lived long and pleasant lives there. Sue moved to Janesville in 2014 when she was no longer able to stay on the family farm in Wattsburg, PA. The Davenport family has strong ties to the Hancock, NH community since the 1930's. "The farm", on the road to Willard Pond, still remains in the Davenport family.

Sue is survived by her sons: Jeff of Janesville, WI, and Doug (Elizabeth) of Farmington, CT; and her grandchildren Scott, Kyle and Samuel. She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. Donald & Hildegard Davenport; brother James; former husband Charles; and Daughter-in-Law Sandy Bowen.

Sue's ashes will be interred later this summer at the Davenport family plot, in the Norway Pond Cemetery, Hancock, NH.
