Thelma Hereford, of Rockford, Il. was welcomed into heaven on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 . Born May 6, 1928, in Huntsville AL. to Joseph and Charlotte (Brandon) Hereford. Thelma enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, taking long walks outside, reading, and kicking up her heels on the dance floor or down the hallways. She received her CNA certification from RockValley College and made a career out of taking care of people. She valued the time spent with her four children, especially all her grand and great- grandchildren. Thelma loved to make people laugh, often with a silly prank to give her more satisfaction with their smile.
Survivors: children: Noble Jones Jr., Cynthia (Clarence) McCoy, Kenney Fletcher, and Lisa Fletcher; 16, grandchildren; 24, great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents; longtime companion, Terry Fletcher; grandson, Xavier McCoy; eight siblings.
Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6,at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State St. Rockford, Il. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial Sunset Memorial Gardens.
