Tom L. Reed, 66, of Rockford, IL, passed away Wednesday morning, June 17, 2026 in Rockford, IL. He was born October 9, 1959 in Rockford, IL, the son of Norman and Bonnie (Smith) Reed. Tom worked as a bartender at Blue Suede Shoes and Elixir in Rockford. He enjoyed taking things apart and seeing how things worked. Tom liked doing mechanical work, whether it was on cars or small engines. He enjoyed playing cribbage and was a talented chess player. Most of all, Tom will be remembered for helping anyone in need. He was a stubborn and generous man who had a big heart.
Tom is survived by his brothers, Richard (Clara) Reed and David (Penelope) Reed; nieces, Sarah, Jessica, Michelle and Tiffany; numerous great-nephews and and a great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Tammy Cousino.
A visitation will be held from 1-2pm, Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State St, Rockford, IL 61102 with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. Burial in Willwood Burial Park.
