Violet married Junior Lee Thornton on January 3, 1948.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Paulette) Thornton, Roger Thornton and Rocky Thornton; grandchildren, Penny Lee, Gary A. Thornton, Ann Thornton, Jeff Thornton, Cynthia Badame and Joe Thornton. She is also survived by her three sisters.
Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Junior Thornton, parents, granddaughter- Kathy Stewart and two brothers and three sisters.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 5pm to 7 pm at Advantage Funeral and Cremation services, 7000 W. State Street. A graveside service will be held at 2pm, on Friday, June 29, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park.
