Although she was only with us for six cherished months, she touched our lives in many ways and had a monumental impact on our world. Ellington was a prayer answered, a loving daughter (who is immensely loved), a precious little sister and a calm life force. Her beautiful spirit gave us a sense of immense joy. She loved hearing mommy, daddy and Addison read to her before bed every night and she enjoyed listening to mom’s favorite songs. She also enjoyed taking walks with her mother and was a foodie in the making. Ellington was a special soul and we all knew it before she was able to enter into the world. Her life mattered, it will always matter and her light will continue to shine on through her parents, siblings, family and loved ones.
We were so excited when we found out we were pregnant and expecting another little queen. Ellington was named after her mother was listening to one of her favorite songs: “In a Sentimental Mood” by Duke Ellington. With an original due date of Valentine’s Day, there was no question she was made in and of love. Ellington’s name was also blessed by the connection of her late paternal great grandmother, Ellen Wade (Jarian’s Grandmother). Her middle name, Monroe, is a family name from her late maternal great grandmother’s (Juanita Bond) side.
Tragically, she passed before the family was prepared to let her go, but we find tremendous comfort in knowing that she is with our God, that she is loved and she is at peace.
Ellington’s life was brief, but no less meaningful. She gave us so much joy and hope as the world goes through such trying times. We were filled with excitement at the thought of her laughing and playing with Addison, taking trips abroad as a family and hope for a better tomorrow. She brought more love into the world than one can imagine, especially to her family. We are forever grateful for her life.
Ellington is survived by her parents; Jarian and Brittany Wade; her big sister, Addison Wade; Grandparents, Donza Meagley, John Meagley, Ronald Wade and Beverly Wade; Uncles, Josin Meagley and Jarvis Wade and her loving village, both near and far.
The family will hold a private celebration of life service on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Green Lawn Cemetery and Mausoleum.
Services have been entrusted into the care of Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076.
