She was born in Rumford, Maine on February 23, 1936 a daughter of Marshall and Bertha (Hopkins) McMillan.
Avis was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School Class of 1955.
She was employed as a sales clerk at J.J. Newburry’s, W.T.Grants and Mammoth Mart.
Avis was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, and attended St. Theresa’s for many years.
She loved cooking, quilting, gardening, doing crafts, playing cards, camping and trips to the casino; most of all she loved spending time with family.
Surviving are her children; Mark A. Arsenault and wife Lisa of Mexico, Laurie Tilton and husband Harvey of Carthage, and Andrea Nadeau and husband Andrew of Windsor, ME; a brother, Ernest McMillan of Woburn, MA; six grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Henry J. Arsenault on May 17, 2016, and a brother, Roland McMillan.
