Rumford, ME – Barbara M. (Williams) Burroughs, 77, of Peru and formerly of Dallas, TX passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Rumford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Warren H. Burroughs who died in 2021.
She was born in Dallas, TX a daughter of the late James & Vera (Hamm) Williams. She grew up in Dallas with her two sisters Lucy & Opal and her brother Johnny. She attended local area schools and graduated from Crozier Tech in Dallas, TX. She married her high school sweetheart Warren and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2020.
She worked alongside her husband at the Texas Theatre for many years and moved to Maine twelve years ago to be closer to their granddaughter.
“Mac” was a huge movie fan, a joy she shared with her husband. She loved her family with her whole heart and was truly a gift from God. She followed His words and always saw the good in everyone and was always there to listen and give out great advice. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her and will continue to live in our hearts.
She is survived by her two children Kristie Burroughs and Jeffrey Burroughs both of Peru. She also leaves her granddaughter Madeline as well as her sister Luci McFadden as well as nieces Jamie & Megan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 2 – 3 pm at Thibault Remembrance Center, 250 Penobscot Street, Rumford. A funeral service will follow at Thibault at 3 pm. Burial in Demerritt Cemetery, West Peru will be private.
