When I think of my friend Edga I can’t help but think about his command of the English language. And his superior way he could tell a joke. And he wasn’t a bad pole dancer. His family was always number ONE, but us friends felt also like number ONE. He was sure number ONE with us. Go with God my friend. Tell we meet again. With all my love. Gene

Edgar was a very pleasant customer of ours at Ellis Pond Variety. Edgar frequented our establishment and often told us stories about how he loved working in the woods and his many hunting trips. We enjoyed each and every story. He made our small part of the world a better place.

The first day I met Edgar was in the woods he owned called the Bean Farm behind my home. He was there with Blackie, his black lab. It was hunting season and I was coming down his trail with my ATV. He hurried Blackie in to his truck and stood there with his signature smile just like the one in this photo to greet me.

I stopped and introduced myself. We shared a property line and I was getting to know the area. We became fast friends and soon, I became the unofficial caretaker of the property as if I was one of his kids. He gave me free reign and I in turn, took care of the road and kept him informed of the general health of the land.

Shortly after, Edgar invited me on a hunting trip to Anticosti Island with his son Alain, brother in law Real, and nephew Marco. It was one of the best trips ever, in fact, thanks to him, I still continue to go there to date.

If I had to pick one thought to describe Edgar, I would say family man. The pride he showed in his family was extraordinarily moving. He was proud of all of them and talked about them all the time. His kids, his grandchildren and great grandchildren were topics of discussion often, always with that same smile. Their victories were his victories; their pain was his pain. He was aware of, and involved in, all aspects of their lives.

It didn't stop there...anyone in his circle was treated with the same love and respect. I was lucky enough to be one of them. He accepted me as a member of the family. I am fortunate to be in that circle.

While we are all sad to see our friend pass to the next world, I personally find comfort that his life was full and complete. He knew he was loved by us all, and we all know how much he loved us...he told us every day. That memory and smile will never fade in my heart...nor will it fade in yours.

Until we meet again Edgar Carrier... thank you for everything, I'm gonna miss you.

Your friend,

Bill Scott

Bill and I send out condolences to the entire family. We have lost a truly great friend whom we both love very much. We enjoyed all the times we spent with Edgar and Odette. We thought the world of his kids, Allen, Bob, Mo, and Fran. Edgar always told everyone Bill was like a brother to him. Edgar was always asking about our grandson, Christopher because he said Christopher was the only one he ever saw that could lace his boots the way he did. He was such a great family man and it showed in his everyday living. Always had that smile. He will be missed. RIP Edgar
