Gregory G. Viger

September 1, 1962January 14, 2019

Gregory George Viger, 56, began his new journey on January 14, 2019, with his family by his side; just sixteen days after being diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, and the day after his big “Hug”. He was the youngest of three children, born on September 1, 1962 to George and Lucille (Vachon) Viger. He was married on August 8, 1992 to Barbara Dennis of Rumford who survives. Surviving are his step-mother, Shirley Viger of Rumford, sisters, Rose Marie and husband, Timothy Woods of Mexico, ME, Pamela Bentley and companion, Jeffrey Williams of Mexico, ME, and a special brother, Rick White and wife Heather of Sebastian, Florida; stepdaughters, Dawn Arsenault and companion, Bill Hobson of Rumford, Deanna and Carlo Zannoni of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Marissa and Abbie Zannoni and Jesse Moniz. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Greg’s love for photography was expressed thru the many photos he shared with his community. Greg put many smiles and lots of love in many hearts with his photos and tributes on Facebook as he had over 4,000 plus friends. “Smile with all your heart ‘cause where there are smiles, you will find me and you’ll see the many memories I have made for you. All you have to do is remember my photo memories and keep smiling and eat cake! Enjoy my friends!” Greg is predeceased by his parents, in-laws William and Wilma Dennis, brother-in-law Bill Bentley and nephew, Daniel Woods. There will be no funeral services per Greg’s request. A Celebration of Life, open house, for Greg and his Dad (George Viger who passed on November 6, 2018) will be held on June 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at 49 Franklin, Rumford, ME. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Greater Rumford Community Center in his memory.

My memories of Greg go back to when we were in grade school and would spend time at our camp at Roxbury Pond. A larger than life guy always. Greg would take time for others and I will always be appreciative of his condolences when my mother passed. RIP. Far to young will be missed.

I worked with Greg at Sunday River, he was the most kind'hearted man I knew. A big teddy bear💖 My daughter Lacy Newell was about 6 when she had a crush on Greg, and we all remember it to this day. He will truely be missed, he was a wonderful co-worker and friend. Until we meet again, 💖 Love you Greg

When my brother Dale died Greg did a nice poem and had a picture of him with it. It was a very nice thing for him to do for our family.

Greg was our photographer for our wedding ...his candid shots told the story of our controversial union....lots of happy faces and many sad....he made sure to capture them all ....after a while , he had enough , and went full -force for the Cake~ (we got away with keeping the top layer before he got to it really WAS “all about the CAKE !” ) We will miss seeing you made such a difference ....💞 RIP

One of the sweetest, kindest, and most thoughtful people I have ever met. I'll never forget the day Greg came in for a haircut and my mother was at the salon. Her car was parked and it slipped out of gear and started rolling backwards. I have never before, or since, seen someone jump up, run out, jump in a car and save the day as fast as he did that day!! From that day on...he was our Superman!! His presence will be sorely noticed by the River Valley Community for an infinite time. ♡

The lord called home his angel here on earth. We will miss him, his photography and quick sense of humor. Heaven is now a luckier place with him in it!

There are too many memories to count with Greg. Some of the most fun memories are those from the Barnboard days when Greg was a bouncer and I was a bartender. Never a dull moment when Greg was around. I am so blessed to have him as a friend. God bless you Barb, Rose, Pam and the rest of the family. Heaven truly has gained another angel to watch over us all.
