Irene was born in Mexico, Maine on March 30, 1933, the daughter of Alex Arsenault and Priscilla Gill.
Irene was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in her family and community. A loving and caring Mother and Grandmother who was truly the heart of her family. Her family meant the world to her and the love she had for them was evident throughout her life.
She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and faithfully attended Praise Assembly of God where she enjoyed worship and fellowship with her church family.
Irene and her husband Dominic, especially enjoyed dancing together and could be found out dancing several nights a week. She also enjoyed bowling and working Bingo with her husband.
She was involved with the Eagles Auxiliary where she enjoyed being a part of the fellowship and activities there.
After her husband passed away, she enjoyed spending time with her companion Archie Desroches for the last 19 years. Together they enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, attending local fairs and simply spending time together.
She is survived by her children Donald Catenaro of Rumford, Donna Lewandowski and her husband Kevin of Rumford and Priscilla Taylor and her husband Thomas of Arizona; three grandchildren Danielle and Jeffrey Bousquet of Connecticut and Tommy Taylor of Arizona; and her longtime companion Archie Desroches of Peru; and many special nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Dominic; her son Michael; her sisters Helen Lemay and Priscilla Jean Daigle; and her brother Robert Arsenault.
Funeral Services honoring Irene's life will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Thibault Remembrance Center. Committal Services will then follow at St. John's Cemetery. Following the services the family wishes to invite everyone to a Reception of Fellowship at Praise Assembly on 89 Congress Street in Rumford. Those wishing may make a donation in Irene's memory to the Compassion Ministry c/o Praise Assembly of God, P.O. Box 269, Rumford, ME 04276. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 9-11AM prior to the service at Thibault Remembrance Center, 250 Penobscot Street in Rumford, 207-364-4366.
