

Born October 17, 1929, she was the eldest daughter of Alfred J. Legere and Olive (Paquette) Legere. She attended St. Theresa Grammar School and Mexico High School, where she was elected to the National Honor Society and graduated in the class of 1947.
On June 2, 1952, she married the love of her life, Frank R. Bean; they were married 57 years when he passed away in 2009.
A lifelong resident of Rumford, Janet worked as a secretary for various local businesses, among them Metropolitan Life Insurance and International Paper Company Woodlands Division, from which she retired in 1985.
She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior and a lifelong member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Janet was a voracious reader and devoured mysteries and historical fictions in her spare time. In addition, she also enjoyed knitting, crochet, sewing, and embroidery. In her later years she discovered counted cross stitch and created many beautiful pieces for herself, family, and friends.
Janet is survived by her daughter Margaret (“Peggy”) and son-in-law John Perry; grandson Christopher Perry and his wife Amy; granddaughter Kathryn Perry; great-grandsons Matthew, Grant and Mason Perry, and also by her sister Sr. Arlene Legere.
