Rumford – John J. Gaskill, age 63, of Rumford, lost his battle with heart disease on Thursday February 6, 2014. He was born in Boston, MA, the son of Francis and Ruth (Klough) Gaskill, growing up in Lynn, MA.
John proudly served his country doing two tours in Vietnam. He enjoyed summers in Maine riding as a member of the “Free Riders” and moved to Rumford in 1991.
John worked as a custodian for the Town of Rumford and retired due to health reasons but continued to work part time as a doorman at the Eagles Club.
John was a dedicated member of the Rumford Falls Eagles #1248 serving many years as an officer. He also was a very avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. His outrageous sense of humor will be missed by all.
Surviving are his wife Linda Bulger Gaskill of Rumford; his daughter Kristy King, and granddaughters Gianna and Amber of Plaistow, NH; brother in laws, Bruce Bulger and his wife Brenda of Rumford, and Richard Bulger of California; as well as several nieces and nephews.
