He was born in Mexico Maine on June 10, 1929 a son of Joseph L. and Rose (Duguay) Thibodeau.
Joseph attended St. Theresa’s School and was a graduate of Mexico High School.
He was a veteran of the US Army.
Joseph was married to Patricia (Touchette) on September 4, 1956; together they celebrated 56 years of marriage; she passed away on January 28, 2012.
He was employed for 42 years with Boise Cascade.
Joseph was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior. He was a member of the American Legion.
Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his children; Sheryl O’Leary and husband John of Rumford, William F. Thibodeau of Rumford, Jackie Waugh of Dallas Texas, Joseph Thibodeau and wife Paula of Auburn, ME, Julie Gaudet and husband Wayne of Morrisville, Vermont, and Bernie Thibodeau and wife Rebecca of Rumford; eight grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Patricia, four brothers, Romeo, Bill, Jack and Bobby, and two sisters, Louise and Vivian, and a great grandson Lucas Vining.
