

He was born in Rumford, Maine on January 3, 1930 a son of Antoine “Tony” and Katherine (Gaudet) Gallant.
Leo married Merlene (Binette) on September 23, 1950 and they celebrated 59 years of marriage together. She passed away in 2009.
He and his son David founded Gallant’s Furniture in Roxbury, 1976.
Leo was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, a life member of the Elks, and a member of the American Legion. He proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1948 to 1969. He loved traveling, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Leo was loved by all who knew him and always put the needs of others before his own.
Surviving are his son, David and fiancé Elizabeth Donahue of Roxbury, and daughter, Joyce and husband Patrick Walsh of Roxbury; three sisters, Doris Jenson, Esther McPhee and husband Ernie, and Ann Cronin and husband Bill; two brothers, Ivon Gallant and wife Irene, and Louis Gallant and wife Saundra; and grandchildren, Evan Leo Walsh and fiancé Lindsey Mumm of Santa Cruz, California, and Nicholas David Gallant of Roxbury.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Merlene, and a brother in law Pete.
