Louise was born Alberta Theresa Louise Stalmuke on 2/11/27 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Anthony T. Stalmuke and Alice Miller.
As a child, she lived in Los Angeles before settling in Rumford, Maine. She was raised by her father and grandmother Annie Stalmuke.
Louise was quite a dancer winning awards for her acrobatics. She was voted best dancer and best smile in her graduating class. She also played basketball in High school, graduating from Stephens High School in 1945.
She worked as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone for many years before marrying Lundy P. Conti on February 19, 1960. They enjoyed 33 years together.
Her favorite job was being a stay at home mom. While raising her three children, Louise also enjoyed reading, gardening, refinishing antique furniture, working on puzzles and watching her Red Sox and Celtics.
During the last couple years of declining health, she was well taken care of by family and her neighbors at Ridgeland Estates who would bring her food and check in often. Without their support, we would not have been able to keep her living independently for as long as we did, which was her wish. Thank you for this. A special thank you to Evelyn for her deviled eggs which she so loved, Vicky for being there when she got confused and to Stella for all the yarn given to Shelby.
Louise is survived by her children Jim Conti of South Portland, Lyn Dibiase and her husband Tony of South Portland, Marti Carignan of Scarborough and her beloved grandchildren Jonathan, Joseph, and Ashley Dibiase, step grandson Matt Dibiase, his wife Lisa and their son Jordan, Shelby and Haley Carignan.
She is predeceased by her parents, stepfather Al Miller and husband Lundy P. Conti.
If so desired contributions in Louise’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
