

Marc was born in a logging camp near Sainte Anne de Beaupre’, Quebec, Canada. Where his father Albert worked as a logger / teamster and Camp Baker and mother Lucille was employed as a cook. He attended schools in Canada and the United States, where he attended Catholic seminary. He chose to forgo his vows and entered public school, where he graduated from Mexico High School.
With his love of the woods, already established at birth shortly after graduating from Mexico High School he married the other love of his life, Carleen Buckingham Heath, and they would remain married for 63 years until his passing. Although he never strayed far from the logging business. He also did various other jobs to support his family, including working in a thermometer factory, a dairy farm, driving truck and school buses. He brought all his years of experience to vocational education where he was forestry program and CDL instructor at region # 9 for 27 years until his retirement. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Theresa Catholic Church and later the Church of The Holy Savior. He had belonged to several groups throughout his life, including Maine Forestry Instructors Association, Le Paresseux Club, The Eagles Club and served as president of the Rumford seniors’ group for several years.
Marc was predeceased by his parents Albert and Lucille Dupuis, his sister and brother-in-law Denise and John Cavanaugh and brother Rene Dupuis. His mother-in-law Idella Heath. His brother-in-law, Richard Heath, brother-in-law, Robert Heath, and brother-in-law Rendel Heath Gallant.
Marc is survived by his wife of 63 years Carlene Dupuis, his son Marc Dupuis and his wife Andrea. Son, Michael Dupuis, son Richard Dupuis and his wife Heather. His niece Gigi Cavanaugh and partner Jeff Heiner. Sister Lisette Cormier, sister Edith Cagno and her husband Joel. Sister, Julie Albert and her husband Mark. His grandchildren, Kyle, Natalie, Joseph, Jenniveve Jillian, Olivia, Gracie, Samuel, and Delaney and Great grandchildren, Waylon and Remy.
All who knew Marc are invited to celebrate his life, on Friday December 5, 2025, from 3 - 6 pm at Thibault Remembrance Center, 250 Penobscot St, Rumford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11 am at St Athanasius Church, 126 Maine Ave. Rumford. Committal prayers will follow at St John's Cemetery, Rumford, which will be followed by a luncheon at the St Athanasius Church Hall.
