Margaret Leslie Mann

Margaret was born on December 8, 1949, in her childhood home in Rangeley, Maine, to Charles and Margaret Stevens. She married Archie “Benny” Mann in 1969 and devoted many years to raising her family as a loving stay-at-home mother.

Margaret was a spunky lady with a quick wit, a strong will to live, and a wonderful sense of humor. She was talented in quilting and crafting and took great pride in the things she created. From the time she was a little girl, Margaret loved to fish. Some of her favorite times were spent playing cards, riding side by side, going up to camp, quilting, crafting, and, most of all, laughing with the people she loved.

Margaret is survived by her significant other, Arthur “Bub” Cole of Mexico; her son, Charles Mann and his wife, Sue, of Andover; her sister, Pam Gorman of Massachusetts; and her brother, Lemuel “Skip” Millbury of Pennsylvania. She also leaves behind her grandson, Anthony Mann, whom she raised and loved as a son as well as six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, who brought great joy to her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Archie “Benny” Mann; her sister, Sherrilyn Simpson and her husband, David; and her parents, Charles and Margaret Stevens.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Margaret’s Sewing Group, the American Eagles Gang, her Card Crew, and Andwell Hospice for the friendship, love, support, and care they provided.

Margaret will be remembered for her strong spirit, quick wit, creative hands, love of the outdoors, and the laughter she shared with those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A liturgy of word will be held on Friday, August 21 at 11:30AM with a celebration of life to follow immediately after at Thibault Remembrance Center, 250 Penobscot St., Rumford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
