Matthew James Welch

He was born in Lewiston, Maine a son of Susan M. Trenoweth and John A. Welch, Jr.

Matt was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Mountain Valley High School Class of 2008.

He loved working with wood and was a self-employed carpenter.

Matt had a love for landscaping and had been employed with Piper Landscaping and Michael Mills Landscaping.

Matt attained his Class A driver’s license through Region 9 and he loved operating heavy equipment.

He had a big heart and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, and little kids and making them laugh.

Surviving are his parents, John A. Jr. and Susan Welch of Mexico; a daughter, Ryleigh N. Davis of Carthage; two brothers, Eric J. Welch and companion Tara Amburg of Mexico, and John M. Welch of Mexico; a sister, Rhonda S. Welch of Rumford; maternal grandmother Laura Mae Trenoweth of Rumford; paternal grandmother Elizabeth Welch of Mexico; uncles, James Trenoweth Jr. of Rumford, Randal Trenoweth and wife Lisa of Rumford, and Steven Trenoweth of Rumford; aunts, Joan McDonald and husband John of Mexico and Bonnie Gould and husband Kevin of Rumford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter Haley, maternal grandfather James H. Trenoweth, and paternal grandfather John A. Welch, Sr.
