

He was born in Rumford, Maine on February 5, 1932, the son of the late Celestine and Telesphore "Felix" Robichaud. He grew up on Waldo Street and attended Rumford Schools and graduated from Stephens High School in 1950.
After the death of his father in 1945, Norman held various jobs to help support his Mother and family.
Norman served in the US Air Force as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean War having separated as a Staff Sergeant in 1955. Upon his return he continued working as a diesel mechanic at the Oxford Paper Mill until his retirement.
He married Viola "Kay" Jordan who passed away in July of 1974, He later married Isabelle F. Goodwin in May of 1975 who passed away in January of 2011. He most recently married Joan Harmon Fuller in July of 2012. The family would like to express their gratitude to Joan's Family, especially Rene and Melinda Leblanc who provided a wonderful home and gracious care to Norman and also to the rest of Joan's family Steve and Sandy Fuller, Terry Record, Matthew and Tracey Fuller, Terri and Jim Williams who were very close and who were a big part of his life for the past several years.
He had a love for hunting and fishing with many trips to the Allagash. He was well known for his musical talents with the harmonica and spoons, entertaining at many community events and family gatherings with Franco American and Country Music jigs. He then later played the harmonica with Fishers of Men for eight years for local nursing homes and churches in the area.
He was a member of the Rumford Baptist Church and had a great love for the Lord. He served as a Trustee and an Adult Sunday school teacher for six years.
Besides his beloved wife Joan, he is survived by two sons Norman A. Robichaud Jr. and (Jeanne) of Wisconsin and Scott A. Robichaud and (Crystal) of Mexico, Maine; three step-sons Marshall and (Tracey) and Gerald and (Youngi) Francis both of Mechanic Falls, Maine and Lawrence and (Denise) Francis of Mexico, Maine; two step-daughters Christine Francis (Ryan) of Manchester, NH. and Kim Francis (Sequoia) of Rumford, Maine; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sons Norman and Cecil "Chip" Hutchinson; one step-son Randal L. Madore; three sisters Rita Holt, Annette Robichaud (Farrington) and Claudette Robichaud (Floyd); and two brothers Ernest Robichaud and (Edith) and Robert Robichaud and (Cory).
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris for the loving care they provided and to the nurses and staff at Beacon Hospice.
A Memorial Service honoring Norman's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Peru Baptist Church in Peru, Maine. At the request of the family there will not be any visitation.
