Priscilla Mary Marquis

Priscilla Mary Marquis of Wyman Hill Road in South Rumford, Maine went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 30th at Rumford Community Hospital due to the effects of old age. She was 90 years old.

She was born on September 8, 1934 in Rumford, Maine, the first child of Alphonsine and Ferdinand Lambert. She attended Rumford schools and graduated from Stephens High School, class of 1953. She married Clifford Earnest Marquis at Saint Athanasius and Saint John Church in Rumford in 1956. He predeceased her on August 5th, 2006.

As the housewife of the Marquis household, she effectively and efficiently managed the daily affairs of a busy house with three children. She was a member of Saint Athanasius and Saint John Church in Rumford. She enjoyed making ceramics, quilting, taking trips with her husband, children/grandchildren, and spending weekends skiing at Mount Abram with family and friends. She especially enjoyed the trips she took with Clifford to Europe, Hawaii, and many other places in the latter years of their marriage.

Survivors include her brother Robert Lambert and his wife Jeanne of Rumford, her sister Jackie Gunther and companion Russell Parker of Bethel, her eldest son Neil and wife Laurie of Rumford, her daughter Karen and husband Larry Eastman of Peru, and her son David and wife Cathy of Waterboro, Maine. She has seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, Ian Marquis and his wife Fiadh of Portland and their children Lyric and Duncan; Ricky Eastman and his wife Amy of Bridgton and their children Moira and Julian; Bryan Eastman and his wife Chelsea of China, Maine and their son Bruce; Audrey Marquis of Mechanic Falls; Ryan Marquis of Lisbon Falls; Emily Marquis and her Fiancé Andrew of Hallowell; and Lindsey Marquis of Lisbon Falls.

A Funeral Mass honoring Priscilla's life will be celebrated on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Parish of the Holy Savior 126 Maine Avenue in Rumford. Committal Services will then follow at St. John's Cemetery in Rumford. There will not be any funeral home visitation.
