Marie, I am very sorry for your lost
Ray and I, the memories at the fire Dept was a great man and as he touched the hearts of many, 
he will be  missed for sure.

Dear Marie and family; I have the fondest of memories of you both, and your and Ray's generosity and hospitality on the Rapid; so many laughs and good times; looking forward to seeing you----keep the faith Darlin'.

Ray is one of those unforgettable characters who made my summers in Maine delightful and unforgettable. I remember especially his kindness, his cleverness, and (of course) his humor. Ray had sidesplitting stories for every occasion, and he told them so vividly and effortlessly every time. It was one of his many gifts--to make us laugh. In our sadness, maybe these stories can help to lift us up. I think Ray would like that...My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I have known Ray since I was a kid. I remember riding on the front fender of his Model T Ford with his son Richard on our way to the Sugar Shack. Richard was a young mentor to me and I was saddened when he passed away. We use to ride snowmobiles together and shoot BB guns hunting the dreaded Maine red squirrel. It seems like that was just a blink of the eye.

My hero in life is my farther; however, Ray was the next male in my life that I most admired. Ray was a good man, a kind man, a man's man.  Meat cutter, firefighter and a friend to everyone.  He lived 81 years and it seems like it was just a blink of the eye.

He always had an open door to anyone who wandered by his Sugar Shack. He was truly blessed to own one of the most precious pieces of property in the world. How wild is Rapid River? A unique place and I know he loved it there. Thank you Ray so much for sharing. The water always passed by in the blink of the eye.

I am proud to have known Ray and I will miss his smile and friendship. The world was a better place with Ray in it. May he rest in peace.  I hope they have hunting and fishing in heaven and may it be as nice as Rapid River. It seems like time slipped by in just a blink of the eye.

Always a happy soul, he made you laugh no matter what the situation. Thats why he had so many friends and could be a friend in a minute. He will be misted, but the Lord will not be without a laugh and a friend.
