The daughter of Raymond and Yvonne (Poirier) LeBlanc, Regine grew up in the village of Roxbury. As a teenager she worked in LeBlanc's General Store, a beloved local icon.
After graduating from Stephens High School, Regine completed studies in a two-year business program in Boston. She married Marion Perry and the couple moved to Manchester, Connecticut, where both worked for Pratt & Whitney. Several years later they relocated in Rumford. After her husband’s sudden death, Regine finished raising their two sons as a single mother while working outside the home in the emergency room of the Rumford hospital.
Devotion to family defined Regine. Anyone in need found her to be a ready caregiver, a skill she honed throughout her life. During times of adversity, her courage and strength gave inspiration. A committed advocate for people with disabilities, Regine was guardian for her brother and served for many years on the board of directors of Hope Association.
In 1995 she married Terrence Smith. They resided in Hartford, Maine, and enjoyed 17 years together, savoring their home, expanded family, and many travels.
She enjoyed family gatherings, her book club, vigorous walks, French-Canadian cooking, and the company of friends. She often spoke with profound gratitude of the many loyal friends who were at her side in the most difficult of times. She treasured the Roxbury Pond family, the Green Acres neighbors, and other friends both recent and lifelong.
Regine was predeceased by her parents, her husband Marion Perry, her husband Terrence Smith, her son Christopher Perry, and her brother Raymond LeBlanc.
She is survived by her son, Stephen M. Perry of Old Town; grandson, Tyler Perry and his fiance Katie of Bangor; step-grandson, Michael Isner of South Carolina; sister, Susan Arsenault and husband Robert of Georgia; and Jody Campbell of Rumford whom she continued to think of as a daughter. Also surviving are stepsons Jeffrey Smith and wife Tammy of Rumford, Terrence Smith and fiancée Laurie Myles of Rumford, Wayne Smith and wife Megan of Rumford, and many cherished nieces, cousins, step-grandchildren, and friends.
