Tom was born in Rumford, Maine on December 17, 1963 the son of the late Robert and Theresa Belanger. He was affectionately known to close friends as “Beaker”.
While attending Rumford schools, Tom was a standout baseball player. He was a graduate of 1982, and in 1981, he was an All-Conference Fullback football player.
After graduation, Tom worked summers in Boothbay Harbor as a waiter and cook. He then enrolled at SMVTI in South Portland studying machine tool technology. Later he worked for Shape and Mega Industries. His most recent employer of 27 years was at Microwave Techniques.
Tom enjoyed hunting and fishing in western Maine. He hated the Red Sox and was a lifelong Yankees and Raiders fan.
Tom is survived by his many Rumford buds and his work buds; his sister Susan Belanger and her partner Philip Wight of Rumford; his brother Richard Belanger and his wife Pamela of Saco; his nephew Benjamin and his wife Kate, their daughter Isabella and son Benjamin Matthew of Cumberland; and his niece Elizabeth Nolette and her husband Kevin and their daughter Luna of Lewiston.
