

Born on August 6, 1940, in Rumford, he was the son of Thomas E. and Mary (McCafferty) Dunlay. Tom was educated in Mexico Schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1958. He married his beloved wife, Linda L. Therriault, on June 10, 1961. Together, they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage until her passing.
Tom began his career at Oxford Paper Company in 1958, working in both the maintenance and paper machine departments. After 35 years of dedicated service, he retired as a Paper Machine Supervisor. Outside of work, Tom was passionate about the outdoors. He loved hunting and spending time with Linda and Rick, whether it was fishing, berry picking, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, or supporting local school sports. Tom and Linda were inseparable, often seen golfing and visiting casinos from Maine to Connecticut and as far as Las Vegas.
Tom is survived by his brother, John Dunlay, and his wife, Nancy, of Rumford; his niece, Bonny Knox; his nephew, Michael Dunlay; like a Son, Gary Nash and his wife, Annette, of Peru; and his godchildren, Amanda Paquette (Nash) and Matthew Nash; 1st Cousins: Natalie Bonnell, Cathy Sullivan, Jim Dunlay and Tom Dunlay.
He also leaves behind family from Linda’s side: her brother, Tom Therriault of Dixfield; her nephew, Eric Therriault; her sister-in-law, Theresa Therriault of Florida; and Linda’s nieces and nephews, including Brenda Johnson, Dennis Therriault, David Therriault, Keith Therriault, and Karen Carey (Therriault).
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Linda, and a special son, Rick.
After Linda’s passing, Tom forged close bonds with a group of neighbors like Couture, Grinnell, and Thompson, who became like family to him. Along with other close friends and family, he cherished the time he had in this new chapter of life, awaiting the moment he could be reunited with Linda and Rick.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the exceptional team from Andwell Health and Hospice Care, as well as Dorn, Amber, and Autumn Thompson, for the loving care they provided to Tom.

A graveside "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Saturday, June 28th, at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery in Dixfield.
