Joe M. Chavez was born October 7, 1925 in Ocate, New Mexico and passed away on January 19, 2017 in Sacramento, California. He served in the Army from 1944 to 1946 in the 410 Infantry 103rd Division. He worked at McClellan AFB for 36 years and retired in 1986.
Joe is survived by his children Frances Williams, Eugene (Mary) Chavez, Ramona (Kenny) Dahley, David Chavez, Monica (Gabriel) Ballejos & Arleen Reyes. Joe has 21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son Jose Chavez.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 25th at 5:00pm with a Rosary Service at 6:30pm at North Sacramento Funeral Home, 725 El Camino Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95815. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 26th at 10:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1951 North Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95838. Interment will be held at a later time at Los Hueros Cemetery, Los Hueros, New Mexico.
