Fr. John L. Maher, SJ, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Wednesday December 21, 2016. Born August 16, 1943 to Leo and Dorothy Maher. Dear Brother of the late Paul Maher; dear brother-in-law of Rosie Maher; dear uncle and cousin. Our Jesuit Brother, Colleague and friend to many.
Fr. Maher entered the Society of Jesus in 1961. He was ordained a priest in 1974 by John Cardinal Carberry. Fr. Maher spent many years teaching History, Social Studies and Theology at St. Johns College, Belize City, Belize and DeSmet Jesuit High School.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 4-7 PM St. Francis Xavier Church Collage Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 PM. Interment Thursday, January 5, 2017 Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.hoffmeistercolonial.com
