So very sorry to hear that you have passed. I have fond memories of you and the years that we spent together in ESA, Alpha Omega. Your dedication and enthusiasm that you showed on all the fund raising projects that we participated in for the kids at St. Jude was always above and beyond. I miss all the good times that we had. I am so sorry to hear of Kay's passing. She was my friend at work and kept me laughing and showed me many ways to endure the things that we had to deal with  working for Water Division. She was intelligent and kind and I hope that she enjoys heaven.  I am out of town at this time, so I apologize for not attending.

Kay worked for St. Jude Children Research Hospital throughout my friendship with her.

We first met Kay (and Deane, Kim, and Craig) in Worms, Germany in 1976.   We loved the sparkle in Kay’s eyes, her enthusiasm for life, her caring attitude for others, her witty personality, and her positive attitude.  She was amazing and we were immediately drawn to her warm personality.  We became very close friends, traveled together, volunteered and worked on community projects together, shopped together, and thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company.  
When the Looney’s tour of duty in Germany ended, we vowed we would stay in touch and remain close friends; and we did!  Through the years we have remained close, even though we never lived in the same area again.  We talked on the phone, sent texts to each other, and usually planned two trips a year together.  We cruised together,  traveled abroad and in the USA, together, played games together, bragged about our grandkids to each other, sat quietly and read together, and always enjoyed being together.  

Good friends are the family we choose and being Kay’s friend is one of the greatest treasures of our lives.  She will live on in our hearts and we find warmth in the many fond memories  we have of this lovely lady.  She touched many lives and we were truly blessed by her friendship.  Rest In Peace sweet friend.

I remember when I first met Kay at work.  Wonderful, delightful personality and funny.  Kay was kind to everyone and so caring, she will be deeply missed.

I met Kay only four years ago at Webster United Methodist. She was so warm and welcoming. I will always remember her friendly smile and be grateful for having known her, even though it was not nearly long enough. 

I have a memory. This is Margaret Barnett Godshall. Kay and my mom, Nancy Barnett, were the best of friends while we were stationed in Worms, Germany.  They still are the best of friends.  I was 13 at the time Kay and my mom decided to sign up for belly dancing lessons. I was appalled!  They would come home from their lessons and practice in our living room hahaha. Back then I was so embarrassed!  Now I look back at 58 years old and think, “how cool was that? “.  Bless you Kay!  Always the youngest of us all. 

I can’t remember if I posted this or not,so forgive me if this is a duplicate. I have known Deanne and Kay for many years. She was like family to me and Kay always welcomed me at many family gatherings. I am so happy that we got to spend Christmas with her and family. We had a great time at Kim and Walts home. I wish I could have met or known your mom    she sounded like a great  person as well as a wonderful mom, wife, friend and grandma   so giving and caring.  I know its hard losing your mom   the person who has been with you all your life   You have my most deepest sympathy..Robin

To be around Kay was to be smiling,  even if at first you weren't in a jovial mood.  Kay so loved life and all its opportunities, and laughed (after grumbling a teeny bit) at all the snags and mishaps.  What a joy.  Deane, Craig, Kim, your beloved Kay continues to be with us whenever you see a smile on anyone who knew her; she was always a part of that training.  

Kay was a very special friend to me. She was always my partner for the member-guest golf tournament at Whitmore. So much fun! Joe and I also enjoyed our trips with Kay and Deane which included golf trips, Hilton Head and Branson. Or just going out to eat nd enjoying each other's company.  So many wonderful memories.

We will never again know someone like our dearest friend Kay Looney.  She was down-to-earth, outspoken, opinionated, well-informed, caring, and always a joy to be around.  Her love of family and the pride she took in each member was always a part of our many conversations.  In fact, getting together always included a review of what children and grandchildren were doing.  Kay loved her church and lived her Christian faith, using her time, talents, and treasure to help those in need.  She was especially supportive of Kingdom House (now called LifeWise StL) and St. Jude Hospital.  But Kay’s biggest love was Deane, and she was always there to share in his passions for golf and bridge, or to support his love of singing. She even learned to love Bach.  Almost.  Over the past 25 years we travelled together several times, shared scores of meals, toasted many glasses of wine and even lifted a few Manhattans.  One of our favorite memories is Kay and Helene’s two-hour balloon ride over Aspen (the pilot enjoyed their company so much he doubled the flight time!) while Deane and I had breakfast and read the morning paper.  Our lives have been so blessed to have Kay and Deane as our closest friends, and we are so grateful for all the joy she brought us.  We can be sure the saints in Heaven are now having more fun since Kay has joined them.
