Bess and Jerry,
Words cannot express how deeply saddened I am over the death of Michael. My heart breaks for you. I remember talking to him a number of times. He is a great guy with two of the best parents a person could ask for. I wish I could be there to hug you both. You are and always will be in my prayers, my thoughts, and in my heart. I love you both!

I also never knew the family at all but I dearly wanted to reach out to you, and let you know that your in my prayers at this sad time of disbelief and emptiness. I was sat when the news came onto my phone and this story has reached out and touched me so much. May God bless and guide you over the coming weeks and give you the strength to know there are many thinking of you all right now. God bless. Xx

Dearest Janet, Mary and Bess and families, I am so so sorry for your loss. I am so sorry I can not get there in person but please know that I am thinking of and praying for all of you! Although I did not know Michael, I know that being a part of your family, he was a kind and wonderful son, nephew and human. I think often on times I spent in your house with your mom and dad and family and the laughter . I know that you will all take comfort from memories of Michael and times with him. I met Mike in the early 2000's, we met because he grew up with some of my friends. I did not see him with any regularity, but when I did get to see him I knew it was going to be a good night. The kind of night that would typically end the next morning... with a hangover. His passion for police work would shine through the stories he would tell and how excited he would get. It has been 10 years since I have seen or even talked to Mike, but I know that if I had the chance to sit down with him, it would have been like no time had passed. This is the true measure of a friend. My heart goes out to his children & family. RIP Langsdorf, you will be missed.

To the friends and family of Michael,
I am also a stranger, but I would be remiss not to pay my respects. His story came across my screen yesterday at work and it hit me so incredibly hard I cannot imagine the pain you all are feeling. The photo of Mike holding the young child shows genuine care and compassion. You can tell he was truly good man. God bless you all.
