I’m amazed at the number of people that showed up every day for the 9 days novena that I was there. Different faces every single night and some have their own story to tell such as: when she came to St. Louis to work she didn’t know anybody and the couple Nick and Baby, made her comfortable with the new place, she would go to their place after work, and they would even feed her. The couple is known for helping people get established in the St. Louis area. What I witnessed in the 9-day novena is a testimony of unselfish goodness of humanity that is hard to find these says.

Visiting Uncle Nick and Aunt Babie in St. Louis was a big part of my childhood summers. One of my favorite memories from those summers is riding on his motorcycle to Ted Drewes to get frozen custard. He was a great guy who was very protective for those he cared about. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Neyer was always a standup guy. I’ve been friends with his son, Eric, for over 30 years. Eric and myself have been through a lot together and we’ve also gotten into a little mischief too. But Mr. Neyer was always willing to forgive and forget. If you talked to him like a gentleman, he’d return the favor. Quite the gentleman he was.... RIP

I remember a happy and fun loving man. Driving his 56 Chevy on the autobahn. I remember Nick and Ken meeting a group of nurse student. Nick & Baby hit it off as did Ken & Flo. Stuttgart, Germany was the greatest place on earth for four friends. I can still hear Nick's voice laughing. God Bless.
