Bob and I were deeply shocked and saddened to just find out today that my life long family friend had passed. Dave's parents were my parent's best friends and served in each other's weddings. Bill Bridwell was my godfather and a wonderful one. We shared in a lot of fun family events, many jokes and a lot of laughs. It was always special being with all the Bridwells, Bill, Alice, David and Jack. We made a lot of memories together at Giessows' s Cottage Farm in Ware, Missouri on the Big River where we all had small country cottages.
We always stopped by the family home on Alma Avenue in south St. Louis on  Christmas day until we were all married. It was a very special time to me, a part of my growing-up years.
David we are sorry we didn't get the chance to have that last lunch together. So many years have come and gone so quickly. You were always fun to be with and you will be missed by all of us. You laughed, smiled and were so courageous for many years, now you are at peace. Say hello to our families as you gather in heaven.

Lynda, Joanne and I were saddened to learn of David's passing. He was a great neighbor of ours for several years in Lafayette Square and we will miss him and his infectious laugh. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Rest in peace David. You will be missed.

We remember many happy times and hearty laughs with David.   He enriched our time in Tucson.  HE REALLY DID.

May you rest in peace Dave. Our family times are treasured memories. My sons say holidays were never the same without Monopoly, I would have to agree. I invision you in a lavish garden now the perfect serenity I am sure you will keep it "tidy"!

In memory of my friend, David Bridwell:I met Dave in 1964. Over years I learned to admire and value him as one who was guided by duty to make things better than he found them. Dave saw outcomes as less a reward than efforts applied. He found joy in the challenge, the endeavor, even as some outcomes inevitably fell short.He dealt with more than his share  of disappointment. I started a small business over 4 years ago, and Dave was one of my first clients. He was so encouraging and supportive because he had "been there..done that". He included my wife and I at social events at his wonderful home, and even took us out to lunch. We will miss him greatly!!

About 20 yrs ago I was asked to join my soon to be wife Maggie Wohlberg on fathers day and go to Bridwell's house for the day. she said you will like Dave he is fun to be with. that was the first time she had used his first name. I asked if he had a brother named Jack. what a shock? I knew the whole family back in 1950. as soon as Dave saw me he remembered me and gave one of those big smiles that he was known for and of course asked what I wanted to drink. He will be missed by many people. I being one of those people.Dave you are now at peace

Dave inspired me to reach in new directions and take on greater challenges!  He was tough but fair and always had mine and my family's best interests at heart!  I will miss his great sense of humor and wry smile!

I will always remember Uncle Dave and all the great Fathers Day celebrations we had out at the Bridwell's.  I will never forget how he treated us kids like gold.
Sincere, funny, strong, and loving:  he set a high bar for what it meant to be a man.

Dave was a generous neighbor who was very involved in Lafayette Square.  He will be missed by his friends and neighbors.

Our condolences to Dave's family. Carol and I were classmates of Dave's at Cleveland High School. Dave was fun to be around and a good friend. We have good memories of renewing our friendship with Dave at our 25th and 50th high school reunions. He will be missed by all who knew him.

David was such a special neighbor to Ron and I.  He was always ready to give his opinion on how to fix things or watch work progress in our garage as Ron was installing a lift.  He would get after me to take care of a particular place in the park where it is a weed patch and he wanted it cleaned up. How very brave David was to be involved, try to communicate the best way he could, and be willing to push to make things happen! We pray he is in a peaceful place, reunited with those he loved that have proceeded him in death.

Dave was a kind and very generous man.  Stacey and I were honored to have him as a friend and he was also a part of our family.   We loved to sit and talk with Dave and will miss him greatly.  He opened his house to our family when my dad passed away and this gesture won't be forgotten.  We will miss you Dave.
