His family lived briefly in Lamberton, Atwater and Spicer, MN, before settling in the New London/Spicer area. There, he wrestled and played football for the New London Spicer High School, graduating in 1967.
He attended the University of Minnesota and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Eventually, he started his own roofing company, RON PARADEE ROOFING and was known for his excellent work along with fair prices.
While in college, he was united in marriage to Gayle Weber and had their daughter, Ruth Lang.
In 1980, he married Bev Lee. They had a son, Daniel Paradee, the “Apple of his Eye”.
Later, he was briefly married to his friend to this day, Annie Lee.
Ron loved to travel and visit friends and relatives, keeping track of everyone while telling stories and talking big! Always athletic, he especially loved running and bicycling. If you knew Ron, they were long runs and long bike rides. He had a talent for art and an eye for color. He painted pictures and collected colored glass and dishes. As a self-taught musician, he played the guitar and piano. He was also an amazing cribbage player, putting fear into anyone who sat across the cribbage board from him! He even won the Family Cribbage Tournament twice.
He had many dear friends whom he went to coffee and played bingo with. A number of younger people thought of him as a parent figure, teaching them to fix cars and other useful things.
Ron is survived by his son, Daniel Paradee; daughters, Ruth Lang and Jennifer McGinnis; siblings, Laramee Paradise, Lea Ann Paradise and Kelly Paradee; grandchildren and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Louis Paradee and Mary Ann (Bishop) Paradee; brothers, Terry Don Paradee and Michael Allen Paradee and sister, Lori Lynn Paradee.
A Celebration of Life for Ron will be held Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11:00 am with visitation 1 hour prior to service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave N, St. Paul, MN 55106, 651-776-1555.
