

Born on January 19, 1939, in Barnesville, Minnesota to parents Vernon and Esther Baker, Virginia was a longtime resident of Dallas and Salem, Oregon. She loved gardening and generously shared the results with her neighbors and friends, who returned her cheerfulness with affection. Virginia had a life-long love of animals, especially small dogs, cats, birds, and strays. She will be kept close in the memories of her family, including her sisters, Kathleen Baker and Carole Stowitschek, her nieces, Juliane Stowitschek and Brenda Mosal, and her great-nephew, Grant Mosal.
Friends and family are welcome to attend a graveside Celebration of Life at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Dallas Cemetery, 2065 SW Fairview Avenue, Dallas, Oregon. A hosted gathering to visit and share stories will follow starting at 12:30 p.m. at Annette’s Cafe at 311 Edgewater Street NW, Salem, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of Felines at 980 Commercial Street SE, Salem, Oregon or to the Oregon Humane Society at 4642 Turner Road SE, Salem, Oregon.
