Allen L. Lane, 94, of Delmar, MD passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Mr. Lane is survived by his wife of 76 years, Ruth J. Lane and four children, Michael Lane (Salisbury, MD), Terri (Bobby) Taylor (Delmar, DE), Wanda (Roby) Twilley (Delmar, DE), and Karen (Sonya) Lane (Alexandria, VA), and two siblings Grace Wilkins (Salisbury, MD) and Larry Lane (Augusta, GA). He is also survived by his five grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and four more great-great-grandchildren on the way. Mr. Lane is preceded in death by his parents William and Alverta Lane and eight siblings Ruby Ayers, Mamie Shupe, Howard Lane, Margaret Slagle, Wilma Saferight, Edith Ruhl, Warren Lane, and Shirley Van Fossen.
Allen Lane worked at Perdue for 27 years. He worked closely with numerous chicken growers to ensure that their houses were maintained according to standards. Prior to this Mr. Lane worked at DuPont, Foot Mineral, Rollins Outdoor Advertising, the railroad, and the Virginia State Highway. Allen loved gardening and working outside. He enjoyed sitting on his porch with family and friends talking about the good old days. He was a great family man, and loving husband and father.
A funeral service will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, at 2pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, MD.
