Amy Diane Sier, 54, of Mardela Springs passed peacefully into Heaven on September 16, 2026, surrounded by her family at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford, Delaware, following injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
Born on November 30, 1971, Amy was the daughter of Darley and Charlene Travers of Hebron, Maryland. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her beloved son, Scottie; her siblings, Susan English and Kirby Travers (Penny); and her nieces and nephews, Jacob, Laura, Emma, and Lilly.
Amy is preceded in death by her father, nephew Tate Bennett, and grandparents William and Phyllis Faulkner and Albert and Laura Leona Travers.
Amy was a proud graduate of Mardela Middle and High School. Professionally, she devoted her career to helping others, first in the healthcare field and most recently serving as office administrator at General Refrigeration Company.
Amy took tremendous pride in serving her community through more than 33 years of involvement with Lions Clubs International. She began as an active member of the Salisbury Metro Lions Club, where she served as president, and later continued her service with the Hebron Lions Club. She was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the highest form of recognition given by the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) to honor dedication to humanitarian service. Throughout the years, Amy embraced numerous leadership opportunities and participated wholeheartedly in activities that supported and strengthened her community. Amy could often be found volunteering at the Good Beer Festival in Salisbury, Turkey Shoots, or the Hebron Carnival—always generously giving her time and sharing her warm smile and laughter with everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Amy had a deep love for animals—all animals—but dogs and horses held an especially dear place in her heart. Her home was rarely without at least three dogs, each one deeply loved and thoroughly spoiled. In recent years, Amy fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a horse owner and rider. Caring for and riding her beloved Tyrone brought her tremendous joy and revealed her most genuine, radiant smile. She delighted in sharing photos of their adventures together, often capturing Amy and Tyrone both appearing to grin from ear to ear. Amy also enjoyed going to the beach and traveling.
We rejoice as Amy sits at the feet of our Savior, but our hearts are heavy.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 11am at Nelson’s Memorial Church in Hebron where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Rev. Charles Fiore and Rev. Jim Riley will officiate. Interment will follow in Hebron Cemetery.
