Andrew James Lapasnick III, 72, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2022, after a brief illness. Jimmy spent his early childhood in Richardson Park and loved reminiscing about the old neighborhood. He remembered all of his teachers' names and could describe his baseball moments in detail. These were his best times as a young person. Jimmy graduated from John Dickinson High School, and worked at Amtrak in the locomotive area for 30 years. His pastimes included sports, scuba diving, photography, range shooting, music, history, and art. Andrew spent his retirement in Stuart, Florida, and enjoyed the sun, golfing, and friendship tremendously. He recently moved back to Delaware, and enjoyed the autumn weather very much.
His legacy lives on through 2 loving daughters and 6 beautiful grandchildren. He will be remembered for his charismatic way, his athleticism, his role as a Grandad, and for being a deep thinker.
Jimmy had a special dedication to the Hemophilia community, and was inspired by recent medical advancements for those affected by blood disorders. The love and comfort that he received during his illness, made him grateful and feel at peace.
A small celebration of life will be held at a later date.
