Arliene June Miller, 77, of Salisbury, Maryland passed away peacefully Sunday, March 8, 2026, surrounded by her family at Coastal Hospice by the Lake. Born in Salisbury, Maryland on May 15, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Gladys Shrieves Marshall and Arley H. Cecil.
Arliene grew up in Salisbury and attended Wicomico High School. In her younger years, she worked as a candy striper at Peninsula Regional, was a Girl Scout Troop leader, and neighborhood "mom." She was a beacon of knowledge for anything you asked of her. She loved her crafts, baking cakes, sewing, dressing as a clown, taking care of babies, and singing. Arliene was a proud grandmother to not only her own but also welcomed “children” that weren’t hers into her life.
Arliene is survived by her children, Rachel Brooks, Thurman "Buddy" Brooks, Sarah Miller, Michelle Lamb, Kathy Miller and Jennifer Miller; grandchildren: Michael Rayne (Hayden), Joshua Brooks, Ernest Adkins III, Tyler Lamb, Hunter Pellegrin, Brooke Tingle, Abby Lamb, Kendra Bankert, Jessa Griffin, and Michael Bankert; great-grandchildren, Alexander Potter, Aubrey Lamb, Emmitt Rayne, and Ezra Rayne; siblings: Earl Cecil, Jesse Marshall (Pat) and George Marshall; and sister-in-law, Doris Cecil. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and "adopted" children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Cecil and her cousin Linda Burt.
Funeral services to celebrate Arliene’s life will be held Monday, March 16, 2026, at 1pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury. Interment will follow Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, Maryland. Visitation from 12pm - 1pm on Monday will be held at the funeral home.
