Barry H. Mullin, 66, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at his home in Sharptown, MD. He was the son of the late Bernard W. Mullin, Sr. and Eleanor Owens Mullin. After graduating from Mardela High School, Mr. Mullin began work as a mason doing brick, block work, and for a short time had his own business. He then began work as a cabinetmaker for companies in South Carolina and Mardela Springs. He took the skills learned during that period to establish his second and final business in 1991, Nanticoke Cabinets and Countertops in Sharptown. Barry took great pride in his work and treated each job as if it were being done for his own home. Never one to sit still, he also used his cabinet making skills to create wonderful furniture that decorates the homes of friends and family.
Barry was a family man and loved nothing more than taking his daughter and grandsons out on adventures, looking for Indian artifacts, trips to Smith Island and spending time together playing at the park.
In addition to his parents Mr. Mullin was predeceased by his sister Sue Mullin Brittingham (Albert) of Laurel, DE, his nephew Wesley Baker, Jr. of Mardela Springs, and stepson Kyle Smith of South Carolina. He is survived by his daughter Lindsey Nanez, her partner Reece Hales III, grandsons Carter and Trent Hales of Galestown and grandson Nathan Milliner of Mardela Springs. He is also survived by one brother Bernard W. Mullin Jr. and wife Cindi of Salisbury, nephew Sean Mullin and wife Amy of Glen Burnie, MD, niece Erin Reddy and husband Jonathan of Forest Hill, MD, and numerous cousins of the Cline family in the Baltimore and Frederick area.
A Celebration of Barry’s Life will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11am at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Pastor David Bennett will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Barry to the Sharptown Historical Commission, PO Box 338, Sharptown, MD 21861.
