Bernard Francis Archambeault, age 87, passed peacefully on October 25, 2020 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Maryland. Born on December 24, 1932 in Northampton, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Edward John Archambeault and Adelaide Laura (Lafond) Archambeault. “Archie” as he was referred to by friends, was preceded in death by his first wife, Fern Elizabeth (Jones) Archambeault, in March 2000, their son, Bernard “Buddy” Archambeault, Jr., November 1974 and Archie’s second wife, Paula (McConnell) Archambeault with whom he found wonderful companionship until her passing in February of 2018. Archie was also preceded in death by all eight of his siblings: Roland, Lester, Loretta (Drury), Genevieve (Short), Blanche (St. John), Edward, Robert, and Richard. He proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. His brother, Richard, whom was lost in Korea in 1950, was identified 64 years later and laid to rest in 2014. It was one of the greatest privileges of his life, to see his brother returned home at last. Archie was an avid reader of American History, a lifelong member of the American Legion, Veterans’ of Foreign War, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In his youth he was a Golden Gloves Boxer. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, ability to joke about everything and teasing the cashiers at the Salvation Army. He will be remembered fondly by his children, Michael (Patricia) Archambeault, Ronald (Deborah) Archambeault, Germaine (Michael) Marshall, and Sharon (Ralph) Harcum, with whom he made his home in the last years of his life. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Erik Archambeault, Kevin Archambeault, Elizabeth Farrell, Amber Archambeault, Kristen Spicer, Andrew Marshall, Evan Harcum, Katie Knaly. Three great-grandchildren: Connor Farrell, Brayden Farrell, and Ethan Archambeault along with many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. A private family memorial will be held.
