Born September 9, 1941, in Seaford, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late James Hammond and Virginia Armstrong Curran.
Betty was a member of the Church of God in Seaford and enjoyed the beach, reading, and playing card games. She was a loving mother and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as G Ma.
She is survived by three children, Robert Wilkins, Laura Mitchell and her husband Miguel, and Marcia Todd; six grandchildren, Eric Hill, Greg (Shannon) Hill, Jonathan “JD” Dearth (Michelle), Ashley Gonzalez Sadhak, Ricky Robinson, and Brittney Fields; 13 great-grandchildren, Norah, Morgan, Dylan, Skylar, Keven, Bryce, Victoria, Maya, Neveah, Diavian, Kadence, Amariss, ZaNilah; two sisters, Charlotte Cropper and Sharon Barto; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Dearth; brother, William Armstrong; and great-granddaughter, Zoey Hill.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday at 2pm at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Friends may visit at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury from 12:30pm - 1:30pm.
Friends and family are invited to join a celebration of life at Poplar Hill Mansion, 117 Elizabeth St., Salisbury, MD, immediately following interment.
